Fano
Fano overlooks the Adriatic between the coast and the hills of the Pesaro area. The Arch of Augustus and surviving walls recall its Roman origins, while Piazza XX Settembre and the Malatesta Court reflect later periods. The canal harbour and the beaches of Lido and Sassonia reveal its maritime character. Outside the centre, the landscape follows the shore and the Metauro valley.
